The Holidays can be a tricky time to navigate eating healthy and not indulging in every sweet treat on the dessert table. If you’re reading this it’s likely you like chocolate, so today on the Tambor blog we’re sharing a recipe for this delicious Raw Cacao Banana Acai Smoothie, to help you through those cravings in a way that’s nourishing and doesn’t just fill you up with refined sugars. This is a great smoothie to enjoy during the day, or as a dessert. In this recipe we’re using both cacao powder and cacao nibs. Cacao nibs are roasted cacao beans that have been separated from their husks and broken into smaller pieces. By themselves, they’re bitter, but in a smoothie or as a topping they’re so good! *Makes one serving
2 frozen Traditional Tambor Acai packs
2 frozen apple bananas [ or 1 large banana ]
1 tablespoon raw cacao powder
1 teaspoon maca powder
2 tablespoons organic raw almonds
1 tablespoon cacao nibs
1 tablespoon local organic raw honey
1 cup of organic almond milk [ homemade is our favorite way ]
coconut oil drizzle [ optional ]
2 tablespoons cacao nibs
Add all ingredients into your blender. Blend until smooth. We also recommend topping with coconut oil and cacao nibs for an extra chocolate crunch. Find more Tambor recipes here.
