Although we mainly know the açaí bowl in its standard form as a healthy meal or snack, açaí can serve as a wonderful dessert! This recipe features chocolate and macadamia nuts, both of which are highly nutritious, making this an extremely nourishing treat. We love the way cacao powder enhances açaí’s chocolatey flavor. Rich, creamy, fresh–this is the kind of decadent, good-for-you dessert you’ll crave after a long day in the sun!
Chocolate Mac Nut Açaí
1 bar Traditional Açaí
1 bar Açaí Mix
1 frozen organic banana
2-3 oz almond milk
2 tsp organic raw cacao powder
¼ cup macadamia nuts
2 tsp local honey
Run the açaí bars under warm water for about 30 seconds in their package. Use your hands to soften up the bars then set aside.
Add almond milk, 1 tsp of honey, cacao powder, and the frozen banana to blender and blend until creamy.
Slice open the ends of the softened açaí bars with a sharp knife or scissors and add to mixture.
Blend again until thick and creamy. Serve in a bowl. Top your bowl with sliced banana, chocolate chips, and mac nuts!
