Getting your kids eat all the natural nutrition their bodies need to grow can be challenging. It can be hard to get them to eat their veggies and greens for the pure fact that they’re, well, green. Purple on the other hand is a little easier to convince them of. Good nutritious foods don’t have to be intimidating, they just sometimes need to be reinvented in the way they’re presented. So instead of eating your greens, try drinking them!
Today we’re throwing together a simple green smoothie recipe that is kid approved. Because of the deep purple acai, it isn’t visually green at all. We’ve taken one of our favorite green ingredients and blended it up to create this Acai Spinach Green Smoothie. Spinach is a vibrant source of vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin A, vitamin K which promotes healthy bones, antioxidants such as Zinc and Lutein which promotes eye health, and so much more. It’s safe to say that Popeye gained a little more than big muscles with as much Spinach as he was consuming. Check out the recipe below!
2 packs Traditional Tambor Acai [ for this recipe we’re using our unsweetened packs ]
1 Heaping handful of Organic Spinach
1 Local Apple Banana [ or 1/2 of a large organic Banana ]
1 Tablespoon Organic Local Honey or 2 Large Pitted Medjool Dates
1/2 Cup Organic Cashew Milk
2-3 cubes of ice optional
Run both of the Tambor Açaí packs under warm water for a few seconds. This helps soften the açai just enough so that it’s a little easier to slip out of its packaging. Add all ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth. Pour in a tall glass and sip happily!
*To get this marbled look, drip some of the cashew milk on the sides of your glass before pouring in your smoothie blend.
