DIY Hawaii Style Acai Papaya Boats
With this being the first official week of Summer, we thought we’d kick it off with a island favorite. Today we’re trading in the ceramics for a delicious edible option; papaya boats. Our friends at Banán Bowls in Honolulu Hawaii have got these on lock with their Tambor Acai + local banana blend and are a major source of inspiration for this DIY. Summer in Hawaii has us in the mood to hang out friends and gather around great eats. This is a fun way to combine the two. Make your acai blend and have the toppings be self-serve. Then definitely hashtag dem boats [ #tamborrecipe ] because we wanna see how you re-create this recipe!

INSTRUCTIONS
Make an açaí blend of your choice, recipes here. Then set aside in your freezer.
Slice a ripe, non-gmo papaya in half. Trim off the top near the stem if you wish. Then slice a little skin off the bottom of the boat so that it sits flush on your plate, not tipping side to side.
Spoon out all the seeds. Throw them in soil if you wish to replant; they grow pretty easily in Tropical climates.
Next, spoon in your açaí blend and add on your toppings. We love cacao nibs, goji berries, granola, bee pollen, and of course coconut shreds. Even add more fruit like kiwi, banana, blueberries or strawberries.
