This acai bowl recipe takes these complimentary flavors, and combines them in all the right ways. We’re sharing a simple way to get fueled up with purely nutritious ingredients and a good way to take care of that sweet tooth at any time of day. Acai being a superfood, we’re always aiming to bring you the best of the best for maximum health benefits for your body. This recipe includes two additional superfoods: maca powder and cacao.
Maca powder is rich in vitamin B, vitamin C and E, boosts energy, restores red blood cells, and like our acai it’s full of phytonutrients. Cacao and raw cacao nibs are known to promote good heart health, are loaded with calcium, incredible amounts of antioxidants, and not to mention a great plant-based source of iron. The caramel-like flavor of maca and the earthy raw cacao play well together in this Cacao Peanut Butter Lover Acai Bowl Recipe.

Blend
2 packs Traditional Açaí [ these are our unsweetened packs ]
1 organic banana, frozen
1/2 tablespoon raw cacao powder
1 teaspoon maca powder
1/4 cup hemp milk
1 teaspoon raw honey
Instructions
Run the açaí packs under warm water to slightly soften. Open packs at end with scissors, or a sharp knife through the center to half.
Add all ingredients to blender [ we recommend a VitaMix ]. Blend with manual tamper until creamy.
Cacao Peanut Butter Magic Shell
2 Tbl Spoon Organic Coconut Oil
2 Tbl Spoon Organic Peanut Butter – crunchy or creamy ok, your preference
1 Tbl Spoon Organic Raw Cacao Powder
Toppings
sliced organic bananas
cacao nibs
chopped raw almonds
local honey
Instructions
Combine both ingredients in a small saucepan and put on low heat. Stir until coconut oil, peanut butter and cacao powder fully liquify together. This should take no more than 1min or so. If it heats for too long it will begin to thicken and you want it at thinner consistency. Let cool for about a minute and then drizzle on top of your acai bowl. To quicken the hardening, we like to place the bowl or fruit in to the freezer for a few minutes for optimum crunch. After that, add on all other toppings [ bananas, cacao nibs, chopped raw almonds, honey ] and enjoy!
